Ever Ebullient Vasu – Barhadath
We met Vasu (Vasudeva Sharma) as we knew him in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan somewhere in late 80s. Attending the P G Diploma programme in Public Relations. Not sure why he joined there in the first place, he already had a Masters in Social Work, and he had by then enough skills in managing people and relations, so this Diploma was more a formal label to what he was already capable of.
There was always a friendly banter in the evening after class in the now closed Chalukya Samrat Restaurant at the end of Race Course Road. Vasu did meet many others from other branches of study – Journalism most importantly.
We moved away from Bangalore about two decades ago, he did meet up with us here once when on his projects.
Recently the ever expansive and invading social media brought us all together. We do stay connected to this, nudging each other at times in the hectic life that we lead.
While in college we even did small day trips with many of our classmates.
We even did a skit once in English and Kannada for the annual day at BVB, while I wrote and directed the spoof on Public Relations in English, he did one in Kannada. Here is a photo of the stage play.
Wishing him a happy 60th Birthday and God bless that he continues on his path for years to come.
- Barhadaţh was Vasu’s batchmate in Public Relations Diploma at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore.
